VENTspace Presents Its Largest Resident Artist Showcase to Date

In March 2025, VENTspace transformed into a vibrant hub of creative energy for a special 10-day Resident Showcase β€” one of the most ambitious presentations in the venue’s history. Celebrating the legacy and future of its artistic community, the event brought together over 35 past and present Resident Artists in a multi-disciplinary exhibition and series of live activations.

Led by a bold group exhibition curated by ASF, the VENTspace Resident Showcase unfolded as a rich and layered experience of form, expression, and storytelling. Visitors were invited to immerse themselves in a range of experimental and contemporary works across visual art, performance, and installation. ASF’s curatorial approach carefully balanced cohesion with contrast, bringing together a diverse chorus of artistic voices.

The exhibition featured artists at various stages in their creative journeysβ€”emerging, established, and those in between. Though the works spanned different mediums, each remained grounded in personal narrative and lived experience. From striking visual declarations to quiet, contemplative pieces, the exhibition offered a textured and thoughtful dialogue around community, transformation, and the vital role of artist-run spaces in nurturing creative growth.

More than a display of artworks, the event was a celebration of the community that continues to evolve within and around VENTspace. As a space dedicated to supporting artists across disciplines, the showcase provided audiences with an opportunity to connect with Brisbane/Magandjin’s dynamic creative spirit and to witness the power of collective artistic expression.
